i got a set of parts off the bay for a bargain price, serviced them, replaced some parts and sold them on ebay. made myself a decent bit of money on top.
it was mostly down to luck (they were listed as spares/repairs and fortunately i had enough spares to make em better).
i then got a message from another ebay member accusing me of 'shill bidding' as they were going for quite a high price (higher than i expected) - i listed them up for auction starting at 99p and they reached a decent amount.
i was initially furious at such an allegation, but he then returned with an apology. i did inform him that such activity was a criminal offence and told him exactly what i had done. haven't heard back from him since.....it does seem to grind some peoples gears - and as the other ebay member pointed out, he was just frustrated as he wanted them, but couldn't afford the amount they were going for. But others seem to see the entrepreneurial side of it.....
i do agree with the other views that if you buy on ebay (or elsewhere) cheap and flog on here at a higher price (with dishonest intentions) - its a bit off, but that's only because i know the people on here are (generally) pleasant well mannered people
when selling on here, i offer 'special forum prices', but if i were to sell elsewhere, i may not be so soft with offers/prices. Its all due to the amount of friendliness, knowledge, help and advice i have gained from this forum. seems only fair to give some of the love back in some way shape or form....
in terms of this seller, he has relisted with better pics, more info and may have put some work into servicing, which i would see as fair play (his postage is more reasonable for a start!) plus his buy it now isn't extortionate
that's my opinion on it.
