Retro Rockshox Parts & Service?

Hey All,

I have lots of retro Rockshox forks and rear shocks that require some parts and servicing.

I can do the servicing myself, but am looking for business that will be able to supply the parts (seal kits, bushes etc) that I need.

I'm after kits to rebuild 2 sets of Boxxers (1999 pair need new stanchions aswell, and a 2004 pair), 1 set of Psylo's, and also 3x Coupe Deluxe pull shocks from the Schwinn/Yeti/Lawwill/Lobo bikes.

Anyone know of a business that could supply these parts and is happy to deal internationally? (I'm in Australia)

Maybe try http://tftunedshox.co.uk/ in the UK or http://www.hippiesuspension.com/ in the US. I have read on the net that both apparently have some older rockshox parts available.

Sent hippies an email. I did try that other mob a few months ago but they were pretty expensive and didnt have half the parts I was after so I didnt persue it any further.
For memory it was going to be about 260quid for parts to service 3 forks which I thought was pretty unreasonable.

Not that unreasonable. While you have modern forks there (by retro standards).
A set of bushes for my forks (bombers) cost about £25, seals about £15
So that £40. x3 = £120
Add in cost to ship to you and any other parts you wanted etc..
Stanchions are up ion the £80+ mark as well.


Try Chainreactioncycles for parts or SRAM direct ?
Anything in your country would be best I guess.

Those pull shocks come up on ebay sometimes for $20-30 NOS. I bought one last year just for the coil spring.

Was if from the 6" travel bike? or the 8"?

Either way, want to sell just the shock body?

This may sound crazy, but having balked at TFT's prices and done some shopping around, you can go to Evans Cycles who charge £60 for a service. Got a couple of sets of Fox's done and not too bad either (one was the terralogic version). You can even save on postage by dropping them in at a store.

I did have an issue with one service, but I got to speak to the engineer sho did the work, and I got it sent back and re-serviced for free, as well as a free service credit the next time I wanted it done - none to shabby.

nice tip ishaw. will give that a try.

when i called TFT, it was £95 to service a set of Boxxer 151 and all they had in stock was seals.

on the website it's £85 for a service and bushing kits are £60.

found this site when looking for boxxer manuals.

all i can suggest is finding a good hardware shop for seals/o-rings etc.....that and keeping an eye on ebay for spare parts.

O rings and alot of seals are available online.... Or screwfix! I get boxes of o ring boxes online although some sizes are only available as separate items.
