Retro bikes, saddles in the sky and back/neck pain...

back pain

this may seem stupid and feel free to take the piss rob

but what about one of those adjustable stems just adjust it when the pain flares up at least then you can have the best of both worlds 'Race' while the pain is ok and laid back when it all gets too much

LOL at this debate...........

Yep, a frame that is arguably too small for you, a zero rise stem, and flat bars will give you that vital retrobike look.........

And a knackered back.

Or you could get the correct size frame, a stem with a bit of rise, and a decent set of risers on it.

And ride in comfort.

And of course, that vital retrobike look was only popular for about 6 or 7 years, between risers becoming unfashionable and coming to the fore again.

I am afraid I am long past my comfort on a bike being dictated by Peter Pans on internet fora........ :D

Riser users of the world unite !!!!!!!!! PS. Not aimed at OP in any way, shape or form - just a bit of a favourite rant...........

I've got risers on both my bikes now. No choice really as my back and neck kill me otherwise.

I still stick with the high saddle though as I like a small frame.

No way would you catch me with either black risers or that currently fashionable sitting down reaching up position that a lot of people on moderns are going for.
