...*apart from that farkin bottle cage. what were you thinking!

It's on there because that's how Steve set it up. Again, see the photo on page 3 of this WTB catalog: http://retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=15747

It's a WTB (Cunningham) designed Blackburn "B-52 Bomber" cage (it's on page 15 of that same WTB catalog. This is essentially the production version of the custom Titanium cages that Charlie runs on many of his personal bikes like his "D" series shown in this post: http://retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=974153#974153

All that said, I LOVE these cages and still run them (or a similar CC/Nitto one) on any of my bikes that can hold them. I'll concede the Blackburn is a little ugly... but it more than makes up for it in function.

So someone with "a tiny amount of knowledge of the history of mountain bikes" (and Mountain Cycles in particular) corrects an OBVIOUS error of your's and you throw a hissy fit. Maybe I need some sort of "illuminati" cred to post in your precious navel gazing thread.......or only dare speak of bikes of which you deem worthy.

Not my thread, check the OPs name.

My annoyance was at the fact that rather than adding anything of value you chose to and two pics from the MC website but nothing else, no text other than I got the wrong decals and rotors, although the reason I chose that bike was that it showed the pulstar hubs with the large axle rather than the standard bullseye. And despite the fact that you have all this knowledge about MC you didn't spot that the shock was a standard option shock from MC.

Why not add something to the thread, a bike, some text of interest? It's not my thread and I have no illuminati credentials, just a willingness to actively participate in threads of interest.

Great info! Would look great with one of those Potts ones mind.

And you claimed it was a first generation model. I corrected you. You cried.

Sorry. The black blob on my monitor wasn't distinguishable as a Risse until I went back and zoomed in. Still, oil damped shocks weren't used until the second generation.

I posted a pic of Rob Ressinger standing with the first Mountain Cycle frame ever made. You were too busy acting the aggrieved, and coming up with a (not so) witty reply to notice.

while they get a room together - have a pic of a quality mid 80's frame:

As a nod to the UK frame builders

No signs of suspension geometry, just quality tubing, lugwork and finish give it that classic look - still highly practical, even now.

 I'm going to break a rule to try and get this thread swinging again. Grove Innovations Hardcore. This one doesn't belong to Oneschnark!
