Restoring a Pair of Muddy Fox Couriers - His & Hers

Re:

There's one of these on eBay ... looks like the frame/forks have taken a clout but might be a source of parts. It looks pretty much original.

Ebay Item number ...372399886038

Progress

Been cleaning up the components. Really like the minor differences between 1986 and 1987. Found a set of NOS levers on ebay, the others are pretty clean. The Suntour XC Sport rear mech on the mens Courier was missing, but it did come with a period Deore item which I like, but I will be on the lookout for a Suntour number. The thumb shifters are lovely things of beauty. The original beartrap pedals were given a lick of paint, and I got a new set for the men's bike that are very similar to the original.

Progress 2

Got them up on their wheels.. The tyres on the Mixte came with the bike. The are Specialized Ground Control, and are just about usable for light use, the Halo tyres on the mens bike aren't staying, I just need to find the right set, but they allow me to see the bikes coming together. Need some new decals for the men's Courier, it's been in the sun and the drive side has faded - I've been in touch with Gil..... need to get paid first!

Very nice and both in good nick

Are the stem and bars on the mixte original

I'm really not sure if the bars and stem are original, it is quite a small frame, so maybe - though I've not seen anything like them on anything I've found on the net. The stem is Japanese, and has a hole for the front cantilever brake cable, and has the name Stumpjumper on it.... Seems feasible that it's original.

The womens MF would have had flat bars like the mens BITD and it needs them badly.
