Earlier version I mean't. It was the rear mech cable routing that is quite distinctive not seem one routed like that before.

I'm still not so sure as the head angle is different and matey's has skinnyer toobing.

Drop outs are different, canti hanger, no gusset.... could be anything



Taking the frame number
M7E29085

Assume 7 = 1997 as a wild guess on how frame numbers seem to work on mass production.

M is seen on Marins for Marvel but could be anything as in 1997 Marin used V-brakes for anything but their low end stuff with alivio on...
I don't know what the range was but Hybrids had canti's but just doesn't look like hybrid.
Canti's would either mean BSO Alu frame in 1997 or it's earlier than 1997
