rescued a bike - help identifying

hi all, as you can see from my post count i am new to this site but have just rescued a bike that i am hopefully going to restore to its former glory with the help of you lot :)

bit of background, i was into mountain biking back in the 90's then life got more hectic and it all got forgotten about. I decided recently to buy a new bike to start doing a bit again but nothing really appealed to me.

I was talking to a friend of mine who also used to ride and he mentioned that he had an old bike in his mothers shed that wasnt doing anything and if i wanted it i could have it. He seems to think that its an old giant from sometime in the 90's but told me it needed a lot of work.

Well i have just been to pick it up and he was right it does need a fait bit of work but i think with a bit of time and effort it could be a nice bike once again, on first inspection it could do with the following

seat / seat post
front forks
brakes
gear set

so if you have anything for sale that would fit the bill then please shout up :)

I am going to get some pics taken then post them up to see if any of you can help identify the frame

thanks

paul

its an aluminium frame with no real identifying marks just sorting some pics out :) it might not even be a giant its just what my mate thought it was, its been in a shed for at least 9 years :)

ha ha 5 posts at last :)

ok as promised here are some pics, there doesnt appear to be any identifying marks apart from m7e29085 stamped onto the bottom - any ideas?

so there you go a few pics for you all to look at, i really would like some feedback on what you see, what would you replace and what would you keep as alot of it obviously isnt standard fit

giant boulder of some designation or so is my guess

if so the frame will be very light ,under 4lbs for a 19"
tho that looks a 16/17"
bit high and short in the ride department tho

think you could be onto something there, as it is very very light :) going to strip it down this weekend and compile a wanted list and start scouring the classified ads :)

Bizzare mixture of kit. Nice headset, rims and bar.

from what i gather from the guy who gave me it, it did have some trick bits on it back in the day :) but these where removed and sold some time ago. These were then replaced with bits and pieces he had lying around hence the mix and match.

As it is sooo long since i had anything to do with bikes i could really do with peoples opinions of what you would replace and what you would replace it with so i can start finding some parts, first up has to be a seat and seat post as the one on it has actually been machined down to fit  :?
