Replacing Kona Impact headset...and what quill size?

Somewhere in the dim past I seem to remember having difficulty replacing the original impact headset on a Kona Kila.
Just ordered a NOS XTR headset....will it gone on ok do you think.
Another basic question
Headtube is 11/8th....quill diameter 1". What size stem do I look to buy?
Sorry for the daft q's, been a while since I played with threaded headsets.

I think the confusing bit is that a 1 1/8 stem is an inch across, but it's just called a 1 1/8 because it fits a 1 1/8 system. e.g., this Syncros measures 25mm but is a 1 1/8 stem

Yes

For reference, the Syncros weighs 228g, which I believe is quite light for a quill stem.

Well I would sell it if it was exactly what you wanted, but it isn't quite perfect NOS like the ones on eBay. I got it from CambriaBike years ago and it was NOS then, but I did fit it to a bike and used it a few times. I believe the ones on eBay must be genuine old stock, as the reincarnated Syncros only makes modern stems.
