Repairing a bonded frame

There is a hole in the BB shell on the opposite side of the bottom tube, indicating that the bb tube section may have been tightened against the headtube and held together through the bottom tube with a wire during gluing. My Merida Albontech had a permanent wire through the bottom tube, I found out when it broke.

and another note to that, I am sure that such a wire could be added for safety with this frame. What is needed is an anchor in the BB shell that woundnt interfere with the BB spindle and at the headtube that wouldnt interfere with the steerer. Not sure if I would like to bother with all that work though

Ok. A Miyata. Perhaps there is access via the head-tube for a specialist glue?

The other bonds will be weakened if it was rode in this state for sometime.

Personally, I would not ride this, and bother with it. Worth getting a quote from a specialist perhaps.

Yes but Miyata Elevation 8000, which is a cool frame. The head tube is stupid long though, 93 was nicer in my view.

Belt and braces solution. Not worth it. It will never track well and just deteriorate more elsewhere.

It is certainly possible, but opinions on whether you should vary.

Negative Nellie's so no.

Positive Pete's say yes, but best done by a professional.

If you like the frame, do it. Save a bike from landfill.

I'm sure a pro and modern glue tech will have it repaired and provide a warranty.

If it were mine, I'd probably get it done. Is it an mt-4,?
