When I put new grips on the GT I sprayed them inside with hairspray first.. of course, now I need to remove them and they are a tad, erm, stuck..

Any top tips on getting them off??

If you have an air compressor you can sometimes blow them off by sticking the end of the tip on the line (usually a narrow tube with a valve in it) under the edge of the grip.

Slide something stiff and plastic so that it doesn't scratch (like a biro) down from the open end then something like GT85 and move the inserted item around to help break the seal and distribute the lubricant around under the grip and they should just slide off (WD40 also works).

Or you can lift an edge and spray water under the grip, shuffle it about and it works the hairspray loose, that's what I do.

Why use GT85 though, sure it works, but you need to thoroughly clean it all off before you can re-use the grip/bar, water is a lubricant too, works well and you just need to dry grip/bar before re-using.

I use a little bottle spray for the water, like something you use to spray your house plants with.

I use a wooden chop stick under the grip so as not to damage the surface of the bar, and then a quick spray of GT85. Works a treat for getting off, and then GT85 to get them back on, cos my missus doesn't use hairspray
