removing fixed cup bottom bracket without special tool

It looks like a frame saver bb. I'm guessing the threads have had it on one side of the frame?

I was under the impression that press fit bb's for old school steel frames were developed to deal with non-british or Italian standard threading in steel frames (i.e., French or Swiss threading).

I have check the threads on the drive side and they are ok, I would assume the non-drive threads are ok or the cup would not have stayed in place :?

That's a Saracen looking t the lettering so going to be normal threading.
Also given it has flats for the spanner I doubt pressfit is used.
Just use a spanner, measure it and buy one. It'll likely come in useful in future. Or see if anyone local has. Proper bb ones or headset universals are not exactly expensive.

By yes if the cups and cone surfaces look good then use it.

For the time being, i have some new bearings which cost me a whole £1

I'll grease it up, slap the new bearings in and take her for a blast. Later i can get a competant bike shop to take the cup out and then i can fit a cartridge bearing
