Got a frame which unfortunatly is covered in dried latex sealant after a tire explosion.....

How the hell do you get that stuff / detritus off ! ???!!?!?!?!?!????!!

Solution involving chemicals please. Voodoo may help too. Elbow grease or blow torch answer will not help. I've tried both and getted seriously racked off with it! Next step is chemicals for me....

...as per instructions

Just to follow-up:
- Petrol did NOT work.
- Gel paint stripper clearly labelled to remove latex based paint WORKED an absolute treat!

Note that this was on a Ti frame so no cause for concern; as mentioned I already tried a flame thrower with no success! After one application of the transparent goo within seconds it could just literally be dislodged away with one gentle wipe of a damp sponge!

Bloody marvelous stuff and I'm well chuffed I didn't need to go into sand/bead blasting the entire frame as it was really getting on my nads and tits!

If you have the same problem on a painted steel / al .... or even carbon ... I believe it can still work as well because it is super effective and very very quick acting. You could apply and then you could immediately neutralise it with water before it attacks the paint - at your own risk!

try acetone (nail polish remover, nick some off the wife!) i work on a chemical plant that produces latex and rubber, about 400T a day! in the lab we use acetone to clean the latex and rubber during some of the tests and it can break it down. that said, our stuff is stronger. but wear rubber gloves if you are using a lot of it.

I tried that too....it would eventually break it down but it still required a lot of elbow work. No where near as good as the paint stripper.
