Removing cable stop

I'm building up a bike for the wife but it has the cable stop between the rear stays for canti brake & want to remove it as the bike is going to run V brakes. Is it just a case of grinding it off & will I be left a hole in each stay :? It's a steel frame if that makes any difference & a cheap one at that but want it to look nice as this bike might get the wife into cycling which means I might be able to spend some money on bikes in the future

Thanks guys :D Will get the grinder out tomorrow  as I said it's a cheap frame (mid 90's townsend daytona  )which I pulled out a of a hedge but it'll be lighter than the sus BSO the wife has now. Just need to make up a shim for the seat post & paint the frame & forks

I used the dremel (cutting wheel) followed by a file and then wet n dry.

I removed the fork and rear rack eyes, the seat stay rack bosses and the chain stay bridge - surprising how much 'smoother' it looks ;-) 8)

WD :D
