Remove Simplex Shifters

Hello all.

First time poster so bear with me!

I recently purchased an Alan frame that came with some Simplex shifters.

I need to be able to take these off so I can put on some barrel adjusters on there for my Campag groupset.

Does anyone have a clue how to do this?

Hi and welcome . The shifter bosses on my alan are bonded to the frame. Not sure about yours but can't think if any other way they would be attached to the aluminium.

I'm starting to think they could be bonded to the frame. I've asked the seller if they were bonded on before. Not heard back yet.

Is there an alternative to get some barrel adjusters on?

i just fitted some Simplex shifters to a vitus frame and those "stops" were part of the shifters , they must be a really tight press fit onto the alan bosses

ps the bosses can be screwed/bonded together like my Peugeot carbone was

Ah yes! I forgot to reply back to this yesterday!

I got them off. They had been on the bike for a while so it got a little stiff. Just applied some dirt remover and slid off with ease.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll post some pics of the Alan when it's good to go!
