Don't get the negative comments about 'the french'?

Ditto...and I find those remarks offensive to be honest...we have plenty of French members here remember people.

there are good and bad in all nationalities..and i agree with the above..surprised that none of the "senior management/mods" have not "advised" other members to their forum"conduct"

Ernie

seems learning the language would be the way forward

different culture so hard to have too many pros cons i expect, rather just you will like it or wont
is there really a bad culture in the world?...

.

Its strange,we've been in Wales for nearly 8 years now.
Slightly different culture(in a good way) and some minor language barriers on occassion, seems like a stepping stone into France, allbeit unintentionally :D

a move to the south of france sounds lovely.

is this a permanent move? if so, then i guess you would have to think hard about the things we take for granted here and whether suitable alternatives exist over there.
healthcare, lidl, etc....though i guess with the sun, relaxed way of life, you hopefully would rarely need a visit to the gp.

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity - if you don't give it a go now then the opportunity may not arise again and there will always be a nagging "what if?".

Carpe diem!

The biggest consideration at the moment is my childrens education.
I have to decide wether they see out there schooling over here, which would mean a 6 year wait.
Or throw them in the deep end now?
Having said that there are English language schools in France, but that kind of defeats the object i think
Not sure re health care? If i remain a British citizen can i just jump on a plane and fly back for treatment?
So many considerations
