Referendum

Snail ice cream would get all the secondary votes and come out the eventual winner. Voters with sensitive teeth ruined their ballot papers.

haha i like the ice cream turnover

but alas im am royally confused
i was never taught one damn thing about politics at school
so im always unsure of where i stand
as i dont know jack :?

it always seemed to me like the upper classes sport :? for the adults

im effing headless, i was going to vote yes for AV now im unsure due to the thread
thats all i know of politics - peoples opions and understandings, not mine :(

i saw the YES for AV advert not long ago so they are definitely beefing it up (and down with the NO people, not seen that though)

one thing i do feel, it does feel rushed as IDB1 suggested

Clegg should join the Tory party and let the Lib Dems regroup under Charlie again.

Campaigning under the slogan, "Mine's a double whisky, with a whisky chaser. Make that a double too, and while your there another whisky chaser! Where am I? Right, five double whiskies and a straight jacket please."

I think the winner should be the party with the most votes, plain and simple.

No seats to win or lose, it's for a GENERAL election after all

Having looked at this again think I prefer the set up we have now to the second choice add on approach tbh I struggle to vote for my chosen party nevermind possible helping the next best(worst) party get a few more votes and potentially get elected. Asked the wife and she agreed and since she is never wrong we might as well end this thread now

Isn't that basically what happens now?
But I get what you are saying, the only way that would work is a presidential system with unelected appointed cabinet ministers, I wouldn't like that at all.

No, that isn't the current system. See my example at the start of the thread. The party that has a majority in the commons may not have been voted in by the majority of voters.
