Red Tyres

Wondering what's out there in the past or present? Looking to outfit my rig with a set. What's ppl opinion? Also they have to be functional for XC, as I ride my steed still, so I don't want a set that's purely cosmetic.

I currently have a set of replacement x-rays (smoked & clear) coming in the mail, not sure which I'll use yet. Also a set of red Yeti X-ray/handlebar grips, some clear X-ray grips, oldskule red Avid Ultimate levers, and Race Face Turbine IB silver arm, black chainrings coming.

I've been hunting for the past few months and there's precious little in the way of coloured mtb tyres.

I've got my hands on a second hand pair of Veloceraptors in red, which are pretty good and pop up from time to time on ebay. I also bought some new Mitchelin Xtreme but they were 2.5 and proved to be too phat for my frame.

Push bikes do Massi tyres with red stripes but I don't know how good they are. Perhaps the easiest to get now and currently the best are the Panaracer fire FR (item on ebay 230287802650) but they are not fully red which is a gimp.

I had a set of panaracers on my old stumpjumper (1996) in red with a grey stripe going down the middle, but that probably doesn't help much right now.

Hmm, yeah so it seems the only thing readily available are the Panaracer Fire XC Pro, which have stripped colour sidewalls (red, yellow, blue and black). Not sure if I like the look!
