recommissioning 1999 marin mount vision pro

The fork in the first pic is a manitou but a bit later than 1997 as I have 1997 sx ti on mine and they are completely different  I suppose that they could be prototypes and a year before they were released :?
I also think that the rear end is not a mark one in the first pic :? it looks like a mark two swingarm :? Which would make the photo 1998 :? Strange, good to see the photos of the great man though 8)

Does anyone know the diameter clamp front mech i need and will xtr 953 960 970 ect work fine with my 952 shifters, thanks help very much appreciated.

You will want a 34.9 and any groupo will work but you may need to grind the outer plate out depending on what outer ring you are running as there is not much clearance

Need you guys views on something, would i be better with manitou sx titanium or manitou sx cl carbon forks.Going by weightweenies theres not much difference in weight so which one?

I have some 1997 sx ti's for mine and they are pretty good and easy to rebuild,I think that the carbon ones are a nice fork but a bit to modern I think.I also have some 2000 sxr which I some times swap for when servicing my sx ti and they are great also.

Am i not right in thinking that it would have originally come with carbon manitous though?

No carbon manitous were first released in 1998,first generation mount vision pro would have had first generation fs ti or just fs,pic below

Think mine is a 1999 though and if i look up bikepedia it says it would of had Answer Manitou SX Carbon?

Sxr's are a great fork and quite light as well :D I bought some new old stock ones for £100 excellent :D I have them fitted at the moment as my others are stripped down for a service.(you can easily make the older ones grease injection too  )
