Nobby Nics are awsome, barring the thin sidewalls and the price! I have them on a full-sus bike and can honestly say they are the best tyre I've ever used.
If you are on a budget, for half the price of 1 Nobby Nic you can have a pair of IRC Notos replicas. These too are a good tyre, though heavy at 1 kg each. Just type this into eBay as a search:

they are both nice tyres but Michelin XC Dry [2] and the Continental Speed Kings are too wide for me, my mate rates the conti's, i've used them on his bike and they are sweet

Ah, my Nobbys were an eBay special, £33 the pair posted. I would never, ever pay full price! Why are tyres so bloody expensive these days?
