Have been milling about for weeks after the one i bought on E Bay went down the drain ..

Its gotta be decent enough for all year use and pack down to a resoable size to pop in a Hydration pack ..cost aint really important as long as it ticks all the right boxes .

Thoughts and recommendations guys ??

Endura Venturi - the same jacket I was wearing at Thetford WS1. Mine is the 2008 version made from Event material, the 2009 model is PTFE coated or something like that. It kept me dry and not too hot. Expensive but very very good.

Recomended 10/10

Ive got a campag one. Cant remember the exact name, but im really impressed. Will check the details and let you know.

I ahve a Chapak one , not sure you can get it in this country .

I use it everyday , even in the summer as it is Gore tex .

Im on the lookout too ....Check out Singletrack thread someone asked the same question with lots of feedback

Mine is shite now .... Even with a new can of super duper £7.99 water proofer it leaked like a sieve at the wobble

last months single track reviewed a load of jackets, I am considering a montane as my next purchase but have yet to find a shop where they have it in stock for me to try on.

Depends how hard you are riding, and how much money you have.

I have a Goretex raincoat I use for touring (£20 brand new from an army surplus shop  ) that's great for long distances at low effort. No hood, but I like a hat with a brim for touring to keep the rain or sun out when I'm touring.

For commuting, I'd want something less waterproof but more breathable. I had a North Face jacket that was sort of waterproof, and it was brilliant for up to a couple of hours.

I've no experience of the new more breathable goretex jackets, but I would love to try one, someone else will have to comment. I'm happy with what I have.
