I need to repair a steel drop-out where previous owner has filed away said drop-out in order to 'straighten wheel up'.

Metal epoxys?

:? might be better popping into a small engineering/fab/weld shop? By the sounds of it it'd take a couple of minutes to build up with weld and dress up. Far superior job and probably cheaper than any decent metal putty.

i used epoxy putty once, wasnt impressed although didnt do too bad as glue as i dint have any super glue. works well on ceramics

Thanks. I think you're right, a bit of 'weld' on it and machine to shape will be the way forwards.

You never know what you'll find when you start stripping them down
