Recommend a DAB Radio

How well do the portable / personal ones work?

I've got a Philips DAB / mp3 combi small thing, somewhere, but only ever really used it as an mp3 player. Most of the personal radios I have / used, use the headphone cable as an aerial, and have sketch reception.

As you say, these rely on the headphones for reception and can be very poor.

Unless you are in an excellent reception area (its signal quality, not signal strength), DAB is still pretty poor - so any of the Pure/ Roberts/ Sony range found in Argos will do if you have decent reception.

:D :D Thanks, excellent choice. No home delivery from Currys

Aye, ye'd have to find yer local branch of the Tawdry Battery-Operated GeeGaw Emporium.......

Or, conversely, eschew all of the above for a regular size radio and a coat with giant pockets!

If you've got an iPhone I use an app called TuneIn Radio which can get you just about every radio station with a url worldwide. It's free so is worth a bash. Sometimes the signal can get a bit weak according to your provider but I like it for free.

+1 for the Roberts Sports DAB.

I have one I use for listening to the commentary when at the football; a little bigger than a pack of cards, and the earphone cord is the antenna.

Reception quality is very good, and it has a rechargeable battery too.
