Rebuilt 2002 Rock Lobster 853

No offence taken!!

Skewers are basically brand new off here when I built the bike, I've checked them anyway and all good.

Planning on changing the spacer over later in the week when I get 5 minutes, watch this space!!

Still can't believe this bike is mine, the way it shines in the sun still gets me every time I ride it.

Added some new grips last week, some ODI Elite Lock On grips, so good!!

It may only have been a 5 mile blast with the dog but enjoyed every yard of it!!

The forks are great since the rebuild and spray, feel so plush and smooth.

Not been on the bike recently as work has been mental, however....

I went out with a mate today on a 13 mile road blast, stuck some SPD pedals on it for the ride, oh my god!!

The thing is just so fast!!

Just felt like I had that extra every time I needed it, what do you guys think?

Keep the spds or back to flats? 🤔

Had a fun few days after picking up some Hope Pro 2 hubs for the Lobster.

I've been after some nice red anodised hubs on black rims for a while and these came up on Gumtree for £100, bargain.

Had to replace some parts (all new bearings, seals and pawl springs) as well as new end caps for QR, but you expect that when they're that cheap.

Fitted then yesterday, off out today now for a blast once I've realigned the brakes.

Great bike, great thread. Nice set of upgrades you've been making. Glad you fitted a shorter fork as the original recon looked too tall.

Yeah the recon had 130mm of travel, way too much. The 100mm Fox is much better.

Sat and worked out yesterday that since I built this up originally in May / June 2020, I've changed everything except the front and rear derailleur and seat post.

Don't tell the wife!!
