I have some thin bridle leather (1.1 or 1.2mm thick) and reckon it could, with the right method, make a stunning cover for a seat..

Anyone done this before (with bridle leather, not upholstery leather)??..

If anyone wants to help me, I will gift enough for 1 saddle...

Yeah this has been done before, do a search & theres plenty of pics etc.
I'm just about to take the old cover off my Kona Racelite saddle.

You needs some auto trim adhesive preferably in aerosol form and some grips/clamps to hold the edges down while it sets.

Do it on a hot day so that the leather is nice & soft or heat it gently with a hairdryer.

The only thing i'm not sue of is stapling the edges. I've got a staple gun but the staple legs are too long.I took one of the staples of the saddle & the legs are only about 5mm long, where do i get them?

Good luck & don't forget to post some pics of the results :)

Aye . . but this is bridle leather... I think it's going to need to be wet-formed over the seat...

Yup.. but that is all about upholstery leather.. bridle leather doesn't flex and stretch. And is much tougher..

You certainly couldn't glue it to a saddle shape..

Reckon it'd have to be wet-formed, just wondered if anyone had messed about with it successfully..
