RC100 headset help needed.

Can anyone help with the rebuild of my RC100. I bought it from Andy.l as a unfinished project and having never had a Pace before am a little unsure on a few things.
Firstly how is the headset bottom crown race fitted to the steerer/stem tube? i have a new XC pro headset and the crown race is very loose on the tube- i presume I am missing something?
And secondly- how long should the steerer be on a 18 inch frame?

Are you using the pace all in one stem/steerer?

There should be a race collar shim to fill the gap between the headset bottom race and the steerer, have a word with Tim (Justbackdated) I imagine the standard pace RC35/6 race collar would work.

As for the length, sorry I cant help on that one.

Cheers dude. I am using the original one pce stem/steerer and I do have a spare RC35 crown and steerer which has a collar/shim on it but I can't see how it will fit through the headset. I will get a pic of it tonight and you can tell me if is the right part.
