Thought I'd share this to provide a bit of character insight and unveil a bit of Jesper's inventiveness since there is a classic bike involved and it kind of ties into the previous post's imagery.
He builds cardboard and duct tape boats, and does artwork logos for them. He created a new "sport" with cycling and boating (bike carried in the cardboard boat!) which developed from racing the things in a local event with his brother where they never lost a race in apparently 5 or more yrs straight (both are engineers, ex-military, wrestlers, runners, cyclists, rock climbers; brother also a pro kayak instructor and racer, Jesper a road bike racer and XC guy). Both of those guys are in their 60s and eat the youngsters for lunch. Wish I was still that active.
Some photos he shared, and a rare image of him albeit a bit incognito. I've known him for years and rarely have seen him in a photo as he was usually taking them being also a pro photogragher in the past. He has the long hair!

Just seen this so I figure I’d enter something. Is this veritable steed too modern?

Not a long build thread for this bike but the build was completed in my head way before the fuselage arrived.
I love this bike and it is a joy to ride.

Technically yes, but as you can't enter a road bike in the 98 onwards section where else can you go
