Over the festive break I went to Brooklands to have a nose at the cars and was surprised to find a lot of old bikes, one of which was a Raleigh Mirage. To say it was NOS would be true, not a mile turned or a mark on it from what I could tell, but why it was considered a museum piece is a bit baffling:
So as I look at the pics, is a Raleigh activator and activator 2?
One for the BMX fans, a burner, plus some scaffold pipes, I mean grifter/chopper:
Now the 207mph bike - the record was set in 1995, so it is retro, though not strictly road or mtb as it was done on a rolling road on a carbin fibre bike (road shaped):
As if we needed further warnings, but a sobering reminder that it is not safe out there on your bike, not even if you hold 10 world cycling records:
Brings a whole new meaning to a Halford's special:
Hercules bikes - the finest lightweight bikes?
And finally, some proper retro bikes:
I just thought I'd post these as despite going to a place reknowned for cars, there was quite a lot of bike related stufff, even on buses and thought I'd share. Hopefully Photobucket will eventually display the pics the right way up, they appear the right way on my PC and in photobucket, so not sure why they are showing the wrong way up at present.
