Yup, not pure titanium, an alloy with ti as a major player.

Raleigh used commercially pure titanium tubes iirc, but only for the top tube and down tubes in the M Trax Ti frames. I remember reading that commercially pure titanium is slightly inferior strength wise to the aerospace grade Ti that more expensive Ti frames use. The other tubes (rear triangle) were steel, and some of the lugs were aluminium. The 'composite' buzzword seems to have referred to the frame being various metals bonded together, rather than for a special alloy.

If it had been local I would have easily paid that. Just been watching a dynatech with a better pedigree but the owner has just dropped the sale from ebay it was a Torus XT but only advertised as a 'Mountain Bike', it started with a fair bottom line to get bids going but then had a large buy it now put down, I have managed to email him and will post it if it's still for sale (and if my offer is too low!). Really want a Dynatech after sorting my brothers one out for him.
