Raleigh Ti frame

Seems interesting. Listed in Belper. I wonder if it was smuggled out under the sleeveless jumper of a disgruntled employee?

On a more serious note, how would you go about finishing the commisioning of a brand new Ti frame?

Hmmm interesting, looks a bit meh from the pictures, the welding doesn't show up as that neat but I'd be interested to hear from some Raleigh experts about it... :?:

Curious, How does someone come across an unfinished Ti frame?
Skipped/Reject perhaps?
If I was a disgruntled employee I'd rather nab a finished frame :-)

In the last days of Derby Group(?) ownership I rather think stuff did leak away... like the rest of the plundered (allegedly) assets.

It is pre-disc so probably finished as painted or brushed finish. I had a replacement one in 2001 with disc mounts and bead blasted finish.

Cutting BB threads in that is going to be interesting!

Could you not use Push-Fit BBs on this?
Guess the diameter and lack of stop clips could be an issue.
Never used them so not sure.

seems like a good deal for someone, i would have thought best bet for the bb is one of those mavic ones, zip ties for the cables

I considerd it but it's too small. that and i was costing up some alloy welding and asked about a few Ti bit's that would be required to finish it - about a ton :(
and it would still need bottle cage bossed finishing, bb threads tapping and a few others probably.
