I have overhauled the bottom Bracket, All good and not worn out, 1986 so it has been replaced at some point.

Hi All, what are your thoughts on Galli components?
I have noticed some components are made by other companies.
Which components did Galli make?
This is for a different frame - not the Road Ace.

Is it correct these cable guide were on the high SBDU team bikes and replicas?

I may be totally wrong but from what i understand, the positioning of the cable guides may have to do with the choice of components put on the frame, i.e. Shimano AX. I've seen other builds on this site where the frames have been specifically built to accomadate Shimano AX/EX gear set ups.Those groupsets were designed to be aerodynamic with precise shifting. If my theory is incorrect then i may have consumed something that has altered my mental capacity.

This is what I am going to find out when I fit the cables, you maybe correct.
I have Shimano Golden arrow on the bike all except seat post and gear levers which are AX.

Earlier ones like mine up thread had no chain stay guide it was integral to the 600AX mech. Later ones were also fast back stays like yours.

Yeh, my club mates was like that. ...... going off piste but I wonder what happened to him, he was handy, especially on hard hilly circuits, but didn't have a climbers physique.

Look great, work like sh*t. Poor brakes, poor gear change, low quality hubs that were not great. For the record I'm a bit of a Shimano fan, not for this group though. Dyna drive pedals make the frame effectively 2cm bigger because of the dropped pedal axis.

I'd stick 6400 tricolour on it or 1055

Thanks for the advice, I have all the components, I will see if I can make it work with 105 Golden Arrow.
