105 is a great group set. My road ace was a great frame spoiled by the 600AX imo. It did look very nice though

Find it strange that Raleigh were putting cable guides on top of the BB in 1984 when my 1982 Gran Sport has the more modern method ?

To accommodate the aero shifter mounted on the top of the down tube and the built-in cable guide on the AX rear mech

The AX groups were a strange misstep for Shimano. I guess the aero thing was absolutely correct in principle, but the implementation was wrong.

But anyway, I have a nice AX bottle cage if you want one (those aero bottles were also of course a complete faff, but they did look futuristic).

AX Dura Ace caliper was a nice fit on this machine of mine
