Interesting frame. 1984 model, so serial should be late '83 or early to mid-'84. Dropouts were Gipiemme. Built to be equipped with Shimano AX, hence the over-the-BB cable routing.
Here are some pics of mine, this one isnt a fastback frame, (my first bike was and they were notorious for cracking), hopefully these pics show the cable routing and non standard braze ons for the 600ax groupset.
RE 28 spoked GP4’s and tub’s not particularly practical for 15st, unless you are au fait with tubulars i would advise against.
When i bought my original road ace from Billy Bilsland in 1984 the tubs had barely been glued on, went to the club TT where Jimmy Train refused me, saying they werent safe!

Raleigh Road Ace 12 Update.
I have bought a pair of wheels, MA40 Mavic rims with Campagnolo 1984 - 87 ish hubs, Chorus/Victory/Triumph apparently there is a blurred line with these hubs, spokes will clean up great - what a bargain.
Cheap tyres I had in the garage fitted - plenty of tread on them.
Incorrect skewers but I have found some period correct campag one's.
I have put my Cinelli bars and Cinelli stem from the Quadra onto the Road Ace, the bars are period but the stem a it too early - does not really bother me.
Chain will need shortening!! OK - do I measure the length of the chain onto the largest chain ring and rear sprocket?
AX seat post fitted.
Original AX shifters have polished up very nice.
Original AX Headset.
All the rest is period Golden Arrow, Chain set, Brakes, Rear mech, front mech and Brake levers that are on there way.
1995 Selle Italia Avenir saddle, bought cheap - £20 locally.
I have bought some Ofmega Sintesi Aero pedals, they are period - on the way.
Velobase has been a font of info for some of the parts.
I have Blue Shimano outer cables to fit.
I am going to have to see if the front Golden Arrow mech is going to work.
Surprising ow much it all costs when you add it all up!

Looking good - just two things: the shifters are mounted upside down, and also ideally the skewer QRs should be pointing upwards rather than forwards or backwards, though I appreciate it’s still a work in progress anyway…

Thanks for info re: the levers, they look correct to me, see Sjl Pics
Yeah the skewers are just clamped up random, I just wanted to see if the wheels fit the frame and they do
