Thanks Shaun. Just had a scrape. There's a K stamped under the riveted on raleigh cable guide on the bb and red paint!

That's remarkably similar. Same original headset. This one has a rear brake mount with the tube flattened in the middle. Other than that....

Could be worth the effort then?

That BB looks like it has plastic / nylon type cups. I want to say Mavic, but I think it's more modern like a Brompton or similar.

No wonder you are having problems getting it out; plastic bb's can bind on the steel threads.

Good call Shaun, that looks very similar, including the fork crown and the lugs.

Haden Olympic Lugs were only used on the Rapide in 1983, so I'm with Shaun
