Raleigh?????? Randonneur possibly

Just took a gamble and bought this hoping it's something decent.
Dura Ace headaet
Brooks saddle
Cinelli bars

Don't think the crank is original and I haven't collected it yet so don't know the serial number. Think I remember Randonneurs being this colour or possibly Royals.
No decals on the frame that I can see from pictures. Was hoping someone might tell from the components which apart from the crank seem original. Haven't got any other pictures yet.

Any help gladly excepted.
I've still got to arrange collection as I'm working offshore currently and need to speak nicely to the wife.

Could also be a clubman (the colour makes me think this) but parts are to hi end I think.
Only decal I can see on it is on the lower seat tube near the crank. Possibly a bare frame/forks and built up.

It has the heavily scalloped seat stay caps typical of early 80s Raleighs but I think Randonneurs only ever came with either the oversized caps or flush ones embossed with Raleigh.
Clubmans came in that colour but weren't they sidepulls not cantis?
My guess would be a resprayed Royal.

Looks like the canti bosses are a later addition along with the switch from 27inch to 700c wheels so probably a clubman/ Record Ace frame adapted for touring with some good quality components... great find

Paint looks very factory if you get what I mean. It's a mystery alright but it's got some decent components so I don't feel I've been ripped off.

Im hoping so. It could be anything but just hope I've not over paid. The components are pretty decent so I don't feel too bad about the deal I got.
What makes you think the cantis are a later addition.

My clubman was the same colour., however:

clamp on shifter mounts, no centre pull braze ons and so on

But, the scalloped rear stays and seat clamp are identical

However....

This frame has better looking dropouts than my clubman

The lugs and fork crown look nicer than the clubmans I've seen.

Nice find! Whatever it turns out to be, the choice of parts is typical of a previous owner who knew what they were doing. I like the Middleburn cranks.

Looks like a bit of TLC and some consumables should get you on the road. Enjoy and report back, please!
