Hi All

Picked up my first retro project at the weekend for the bargain price of £5.

It's a dark red Raleigh M-Trax 1000 - 19" , I think judging from the LX groupset it's circa 93 - 94. Came without wheels and seat but I believe it to be original original down to the dia-compe ahead set. I need to dig out my old LX rear mech as the one on it has stripped at the barrel adjuster. (is it worth getting it tapped out??)

All I now need to complete it is an 8spd Rear 93 or 94 LX rear wheel (Pre Parralax shell if anybody has one going spare),fortunatley I have a 93 lx front on a 231 left from days gone by. Thinking of going modern on tyres as I'll only be doing odd day rides....

Only futher changes will be my 92 DX spds to replace the DX bear traps that are on at present and throw on the 91 Onza OZ170's and find a decent saddle and I have a rideable bike.

I'll post a photo once I find my camera

Does anybody have any info on the bike? Would be good to find out a bit more

Sounds like a bargain, dont know much about the M-Trax though, not sure if it'd be worth getting the LX mech fixed, if you need to pay an engineer to re thread it it may cost just as much as a mint second hand one off here.

Usually a few sets of wheels for sale at any one time too (you may need to buy a pair), or you could try a wanted add for the bits you need.

Nothing wrong with modern tyres, i've got modern Panaracers on my Clockwork
