Can anyone tell me what was the original handlebar grip tape used on the 1988 Raleigh Eclipse 12.

I want to go back to it as atm i have crappy charge tape which is falling apart after 6 months.

Be careful about NOS handlebar tape if that's what you're after. I've just put NOS Ambrosio tape on my Ian May (an exact replacement of what was there when I got it). Much of the stickiness had gone and the tape itself was disturbingly fragile. It's on now, but for how long I couldn't say.

It was described in the brochure as 'white cushion tape'

In my experience, almost impossible to source these days

I used BBB cushion tape for my Team Corsa

This is 'new' ambrosio bike ribbon, same as the 80's stuff minus the centre holes.

Most likely had the old style ambrosio stuff on the Raleigh.

Also another quick question,

I was trying to find the original road pedals for it as well but no luck. I did have some look white road pedals on it but replaced with raleigh alloy ones which are really bad and whenever I stop at traffic lights its a pain always to get my feet in them when i start to ride off. I know the original raleigh ones are black platform pedals with toe clips and straps.
