's just a fleshwound.

You can have it repaired, but in this case a new frame might make more sense. There seem to be a rather large number of NOS frames turning up nowadays.

I sent a fillet brazed road frame to Mark Nobilette. He quoted me 185 but billed me 340 by the time it was done because he forgot to figure brazing on the new bottle mounts on the down tube he replaced. Thes are fun to ride though. Have one the same vintage.

bother. whats the plan for it? give her a clean and polish and hang it on the wall / shed? its a very beautiful looking frame, even with the crack

 the even more worrying thing was i had just finished a loop in the cairngorms desending off the ryovan pass! kept on hearing this "buzz buzz"

never clocked the crack until i got back to the car!

reckon ill polish it up and turn it into wall art

No reason why it can't be repaired. If it's a good frame then the price of the replacement would be more than repairing it.
Its done you proud over the years, I'm sure it's earnt a little cash spent on it. Repair, new paint (in one of the original tech shop colours) and it'd be like new.
