Quill to Ahead converter

Anyone got any experience of these... good or bad??

I have a nice enough FSA ahead stem that would work on the marin but would need to use one of these... don't want to go down that route if they're a bit crap.

The only issue really it that they look rubbish and weigh more than a quill stem.

I run a Velo Orange one whoich looks much more elegant than cheapo ones:

That does look very tasteful indeed although, if you saw the state of the paint on the Marin, you'd know that looking rubbish is not really an issue LOL

I ran one on my old Marin for ages & it worked fine. Agree they look a bit naff as they are thinner than the stem but I just stuffed a few normal 1 1/8th headset spacers over it to hide the skinny part.
