Quick question - how to solve loose fitting headset cup??

I'd get it out and cleaned up, glue isn't designed for that sort of job.
It'll squish out and let the headset move, making the problem worse. Especially on a bottom cup.
Best solution (cheapest) is bearing fit, which won't squish or liquid metal. Which is a bit more of a pain to work with. The loctite catalogue will let you know the best type to use.

Other than that, some manufacturers make deep headsets, which may or may not be compatible with your frame.

Use the proper tool to take it out too!

Re:

Thanks guys, did find the good old Sheldon stuff yesterday and decided the JIS only applied to 1".

All on hold for now anyway, decided I may sell or swap on the frame as it's a bit big and possibly not really my thing...

Re:

On an old explosif frame, I had a frame builder apply a bit of hot brass to the inside of the tube then ream it back to 1 1/8". Worked a treat but burned a bit of paint away
