Do your Ti framed Parkpre's have shims in the seatpost? The frame I have has an alloy shim firmly stuck in the seat tube. I don't think it is original but only just noticed it.

Slowly gathering together the right bits for the build, turning out to be expensive, it may take a while to finish.

Don't most Ti frames have an insert bonded to the seat tube? I thought it was to avoid the two differing metals chemically 'welding' themselves together if you put an alloy post in there and leave it.

Mine's got an alloy insert Chris.

I thought it was a shim too and tried pulling it out. No go.

BTW. What you gonna put on yours? At the mo seems like mine's the only one of the 3 that is going to be remotely original.

Hopefully it's going to be as original as I can get it without spending too much. I've got the wheels on the way - Pulstar hubs! NOS Stronglight Ti BB, NOS VP-104 pedals, NOS Tioga Stem & NOS seatpost, PFR bar ends, PFR saddle, just the brakes and drivetrain (all XTR) to get. The small problem I have is that the frame has a crack around the BB shell, I can get it welded by a frame builder but there is no guarantee, it could crack again in 6 weeks or last forever. So, I'm going to build it up first with the singlespeed kit from my Team 925, if it has any weak spots I will find them - I'm not the lightest of riders and use a lot of upper body strength when riding singlespeed.

As yours has a shim as well which size seatpost did you fit? 25.0mm?

It's shimmed to 27,2.

And it's an immacculate tolerance. the 27,2 Selcoff seatpost I have won't fit. But the 2 different 27,2 Record, and Ritchey and Thomson posts I tried after the Selcof fit perfectly.

Shouldn't drivetrain be M737 XT for this build?

BTW- I have made a brake noodle out of a v-brake cable guide.

PM me if you haven't found this bodge yet? It even looks like the real thing.

I haven't tried fitting a seatpost yet so will try some first. It's not going to be a replica build but kit I find works for me, I will be fitting Vbrakes instead of cantis. Vitorzip may be interested in your canti noodle bodge

I have a parkpre PRO elite from around -97/-98.
Does anyone know how much the frame weigh? I don't know the Size but it fits me like a glove and i am 173cm so it's not a big one.
