Puzzled about Peugeot.

Re:

My two Athena 1990 653 frames take a slightly bigger seatpost 26.6mm or 26.8mm (can't remember which off the top of my head but both are the same).

26.8 seatpost for Athena 653 from 1990 and for 753 from 1987 and 1988 (checked another thread from few months ago).

Here's the 531 Altus from the 1990 catalogue. Not very savvy about how to upload pictures so can't get any bigger than this. If you want me to e-mail the catalogue from 1990 send me a pm and will try and do so - as I said earlier, don't have access to 1991 catalogues. It was a full 105 groupset.

Good luck

When we did my 753 version which is the same team colours as the Athena this the colour we had matched to the purple.

It might be the angle but to me it looks like there are traces of pink inside the gear lever mounts.

Maca, There is indeed a sort of pink inside the shifter bosses.

See to me if there is a trace of pink (and to me from pictures it looks like pink on the fork where the headset race sits) then it would be the team colours Pink and Purple like mine. Which would be an Athena. But they did have chrome on the chain Stay.

All the other parts are also first generation Shimano 105 from between 1986-87. I just can't for the life of me find anything with lugs and cable guides under the top tube in any of the catalogs before about 1991.

The 'Y107' in the frame number tells when the frame was manufactured. 1=1991, 07=July.

This explains your predicament with lugs and cable guides.
