Does Ebay even care about this sort of thing? I thought they had algorithms to detect suspicious bidding.

Definitely only for garage queens. I bought a Pace which had one on. Took it for a muddy ride in the Trough of Bowland, feckin' hopeless. Also sold a purple one back in 2013 for a lot less. That's retro inflation for ya

2***n probably set a snipe the first night and them didn't check the bidding behavior during the auction. He or she could probably report this to eBay and get all the 1***3 bids voided.

But I guess that's what it's worth to them, they bid after all....

They used to, it used to be in the user agreement; after all, it is fraud. Do they ever do anything about it, I don't know.

It was basically a copy of a Suntour VGT so was never going to work all that well anyway

Seeing as the consensus is that these are pretty much a POS and worth fu*k all, if anyone wants to trade/PX a silver one I’ve a bunch of nice NOS goodies to offer (Moots, Le Creme etc)…

They're only worth nothing when you're riding with one in muddy England. As soon as you've hung the bike back on the wall for display they're worth $1250.

They are works of fine art, sort of the Faberge Egg of the derailleur world. A lot of bling, but if you want to eat it . . .

There is sort of a sad story here though about how, after a certain point, no one could really compete with the big component makers and Shimano especially. The bike world lost a lot of choice and options around this time. Yeah, the Shim stuff just worked better for a fraction of the cost, but "looks nice, works only sometimes" is a legitimate choice, if that's what you want.

It was certainly a sad day for cyclists when Suntour disappeared.
