I don't think you use a dye though

You can heat Ti to the correct temperature, in order for it to gain an irreversible purple hue.

But why bother, natural Ti is perfectly fine as it is..

yep, yellow and red are easily achieveable... but different heats produce different colours, and it can change from one to the other very quickly indeed if you don't know what you're doing....

yep, yellow and red are easily achieveable... but different heats produce different colours..

I wonder when welding Ti is desired silver weld or gold is good but other colours is said to be bad, well certainly grey is. Have anodising of Titanium bad influence on structural strenght?
