Bringing back memories and making me think!

Nothing like this since IMHO. Happy Mondays and Stone Roses got close in terms of feel if not the music, but have never really felt anything like The Clash, Jan 23rd, 1980 at Lancaster University.Got backstage and met Joe and will never forget how pleased he was to just talk to Clash fans. The whole band went out of their way to welcome all the guys who got backstage, we had a singsong, and Mick just went round shaking everyone's hand. Awesome!

Funny how the punk programs of today argue details...

Punk rock, 1st coined in 60's garage bands

France lit the fire just before the UK got it (really)

Sex pistols now being seen as avant gard ! the manager yes, the band no.

Yup lots of copy cat bands, but so many many original ones too.

Lots of individual and imaginative anti-fashions (plus plastics)

Funny how modern youth replicate the punk look.

I was slightly post punk going on to the start of the beginnings of what is now coined alturnative, industrial, roots of Goth/Emo...........it was about looking different then, not the black hair, black coat uniform of today. All look like clones. Alternative music then was great and so different from each other, not like now.
