+1 on removing whatever caused the puncture. You cannot beat running your bare fingers over the inside of the tyre. If there is anything sharp you will feel it unless its really cold.

Yes can't beat a fingertip for finding sharp thorns in a tyre... OUCH !

Tip Top are the king of puncture kits. And have been since forever.

I ride tubeless 50% of the time and still have a couple of patches with me and bit of glue, aswell as a spare tube JUST IN CASE.

Doing this means that you will never actually puncture. It's probably the only thing I am superstitious about. But every time I've not had the Tiptop kit with me, I've had a puncture.

If you want glueless patches, I'm quite fond of the Lezyne metal kits. But only cos they look nice.
