Is it retro bike sacrilege? Who cares? Ruffling a few feathers might be a good thing anyway. Does it matter that you got an expensive drive train? As long as you can afford it, not really: a good bike that you enjoy riding is good for your physical and mental health and could add years to your life. It's an investment in your well-being and better value than a gym membership.
