Right, it's about time I did something that I can ride on some Retrobike outings and stop making excuses to myself.
I have had a couple of other bikes but just not got on with how they ride but this frame I did so kept it.

Some of you saw the unrideable mock up of this at BDW 2010 but I've had a re-think. This is what I have in mind.
The Frame is a 1997 Giant Terrago 4130 Cromo minus the rack mounts on the dropouts which I will be powder coating a nice bright white. Not sure if I'm going to put disc tabs on yet. Depends on buget.

Will get the powder coating done soon so keep an eye out.

I will be using the 1997 Marzocchi Z2's with Ti crown and brace bolts, as I really like the red of the lowers.

I also purchased a red stem which I think will go nicely with the forks.

The gearing is full LX but this may change as I may decide on some XT tumbies, XT front and rear mech.

Braking is provided by Deore LX Canti's but if I decide to go the XT route then I may get some Magura Hydraulic rim brakes.

Anyway here are some pics. Just imagine the frame bright white.

Comments welcome and any ideas too.

'bout time! Think the black LX cranks will go nicely against a white frame. Thumbshifters are 8) too.

Myself and beavis were looking again at the frame and tried some nitromorse on it but this had no effect on the paint just the laq.

We then noticed that if I scraped at it, it revealed a mirror finish.

So out came the wet and dry paper and some autosol and hey presto, the top tube has a lovely shine to it now. :D

Well decided now to sand and polish it instead of powder coating.

A couple of pics of the shine.

Any thoughts welcome.

The finish seems really tough too. Why would you plate a frame then paint over it? Look forward to seeing it dude, might pop down tomorrow.

Not sure it's paint now.

Think it's the finish to the plating and not paint. Hence why nitromorse would'nt shift it.

Needs more polishing though.

See you tomorrow about 12.30 then.

What do you think??

Sorry about the pics.
