Proflex 755 - newbie retro build

Collected the powder coated springs yesterday and fitted everything together. I still need to paint the seat stays but fitted the rear unit anyway! I don't know if I will leave it on with the shock's rod being so badly pitted but funds won't allow a Noleen unit at the moment!
Does anyone know if it would be safe or advisable to cut down the stop attached to the front rod on the front shock? It must be there for a reason but at the moment it only leaves room for about an inch of travel.
As far as the forks go, I'm undecided whether to fit them. They're quite a bit shorter than the current forks and the bike is set up to not aggravate a lower back problem. I'm worried changing the geometry will bring a recurrence of my back problems - the last thing I want as it will stop me riding.

Hi there, looking very good, and certainly given me some inspiration for my 2013 Flex build :) with regards to the stop it prevents the Shock unit impacting against the Headtube as the forks operate. Removing may unleash a whole world of pain and hurt.......

Would be a shame if you cant use the bike with Girvins, but health comes first, and the ability to keep on riding is deffo a swaying factor to keep things comfortable for you,

Jussa :)

I'm a bit better with Photoshop than I am with a set of tools trying to replace a set of forks! .....so here's a cheeky preview trying to change my mind!
