Local news did say that Gavin is back riding his bike now.

Great news. This time he is ready!

Seems reasonable to consider this was attempted murder. Like I said, if it was a knife or a gun there would be little leeway for an alternative prosecution.

Moral of the story : If a bus driver is too close to you, don't make rude gestures. Just shoot him instead.

What happened before this? Reports say the cyclist was flicking the wipers and leaning on the front of the bus, what was all that about? Something triggered all this off which peaked with such a stupid action.
