presta valves are rubbish

I should have added some smileys after my rant - they're only inner tubes, after all

I have Presta on 1 MTB (the shop didn't have any Schraeder 29ers) and, of course, on my old road bike.

But they do annoy me.

It's not going to be long before someone of importance and standing comes along and tells us to all get over and we're wrong anyway. LOL

(que for someone to think they are one of the afore mentioned persons of importance and standing to step in........).

How about the old Dunlop valve

i also hate presta. i've snapped so many valves off in my time. evil evil things.

why were they ever used on 26 inch inner tubes anyway?

:(

But at least they're tough and don't spontaneously snap!
The newer versions have different internals, without the crappy rubber bit.

Just don't unscrew the top half, or all your air escapes :D

Switched over to presta years ago,, and never had any problems.. ?

Always used quality tubes though,, what inner tubes you using.. ?

...

Another hater here - with a passion. Manky things that they are. Why do they exist? Twiddly little nuts in muddy/cold conditions.

I've always drilled out rims to accommodate Schrader valves. Newer disk rims seem to have a reinforcing ring round the hole, and damage negates warranty!!
